Description
When you’re running a PTO-driven implement and something goes wrong—a rock gets caught in your brush hog or a hydraulic cylinder seizes on your hay rake—you need protection between your tractor and that expensive equipment. This Series 6 spring friction clutch does exactly that, slipping when things get jammed up instead of breaking expensive gears or shearing PTO shafts.
Key Features
- Spring-loaded friction design automatically slips under overload to protect your equipment
- 1-3/8 inch diameter with 6 spline configuration fits standard PTO systems
- Adjustable tension lets you set the slip point for your specific application
- Series 6 construction handles moderate to heavy-duty implements without being overkill
- Direct replacement for most standard driveline clutch assemblies
Built for Real Farm Work
This clutch is right at home on mid-sized implements like rotary cutters, hay rakes, tedders, and smaller balers—equipment that needs protection but doesn’t require the beef of a Series 7 or 8 clutch. It’s perfect for tractors in the 40-80 horsepower range running implements where a sudden jam could cause expensive damage.
Made to Last
The spring-loaded design provides consistent, reliable protection season after season. Quality friction materials and heat-treated components handle the stress of field work, temperature swings, and the occasional overload situation that makes you glad you’ve got a clutch in the line.
Installation Notes
This clutch installs as part of your driveline assembly between the tractor PTO and implement input. Adjust the spring tension according to your implement’s requirements—too loose and it’ll slip during normal operation, too tight and it won’t protect when you need it to. Most operators set it to slip just above normal operating load.
