The 14mm shaft needs a 9/16″ hole if you’re adding a switch where there wasn’t one. Label or photograph your old wires before removing them; typical connections are Battery (B), Ignition (I or IG), Starter (S or ST), Accessories (A or ACC), and sometimes Heat/Glow (H or G). The new switch comes with standard terminal markings. Pro tip: while you’re at it, clean all your wire terminals and apply dielectric grease. Half the time a “bad switch” is really just corroded connections.
